Doesn't look very ghostly....but we are assured by several guidebooks that under certain conditions, the tiny island does indeed seem to disappear. We could see it just fine on the day that we were there. However it is really amazing how tiny it is compared to the rest of the lake. Hmm...maybe like a poppy seed on the back of your hand would be a good analogy. The poppy seed is the island and the back of your hand is Crater Lake.
